Traveling through Chinese ceramics

Dr. Thomas Stollar’s upcoming lecture will explore his longstanding experience with the ceramic arts. Specifically, the talk will focus on his experiences of Jingdezhen, China, examining Chinese ceramic history, material traditions, and modes of making. Through this lens, Dr. Stollar will reflect on aspects of culture that have shaped ceramic practice in China, considering both historical continuities and contemporary approaches, and how these experiences have informed and expanded his own artistic practice.
